I had a list yesterday and I have completely forgotten what was on it. I'm sure there were some amazing things running through my brain, but alas I let them slip away.

we needed a break from wednesdays didn't we.

~books I've read recently~
recently as in the last couple of days. WEE!
>I was told there'd be cake - Sloane Crosley
>Still life with chickens - Catherine Goldhammer
>Grimms' Fairy Tales - Grimm Brothers
deeply disturbing tales let me tell you. I read of more violence in those tales than I've watched on TV in a month of Sundays. Dismemberment, murder, cannibalism, disfigurement, death, destruction, mayhem... it's all in there.

~recent additions to my song collection~
>One of those days - Joshua Radin
>Sweet about me - Gabriella Cilmi
>Angels on the moon - Thriving Ivory

~recent web comic discovery~
>Secret Vespers
>latest bunny favorite Whailing
>Minus

A co-worker just brought in her nieces collection of Littlest Pet Shop pets. they are so completely adorable that I wish I were 9 and could collect them without feeling as though I had a dirty secret. For some reason I'm attracted to cute, tiny (inanimate) things. like these espresso cups. I've started a collection of espresso cups. I can get away with that without looking like a freak. heh.

~books I need to finish reading~
>Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach
>Children of Hurin by Tolkien
>Overcoat by Nikolai Gogol

I finally finished Siddhartha... it's a beautifully written bit of literature, very descriptive and sometimes poetic in nature. Reading this book has made me think about my own life -- how much time I waste everyday, not noticing the millions of amazing things around me. How I pay no mind to other people and their stories. How I've hardened my persona against feelings of warmth and goodwill towards humanity. Honestly it made me regret that I am not a better person, a more devoted person, a kinder person. Eh, I think I shall dedicate this new year, 2009, though it is not a resolution -- just a dedication to make myself friendlier, more open, more accepting, and less like the Grinch that I am.

eeehehee

The Grinch: The nerve of those Whos. Inviting me down there - and on such short notice. Even if I wanted to go my schedule wouldn't allow it. Four o'clock, wallow in self pity; 4:30, stare into the abyss; 5:00, solve world hunger, tell no one. 5:30, jazzercize. 6:30, dinner with me. I can't cancel that again. 7:00, wrestle with my self-loathing; I'm booked. Of course, if I bump the loathing to 9 I could still be done in time to lay in bed, stare at the ceiling and slip slowly into madness. But what would I wear?

One really must love Dr. Seuss, he is rather amazing.

“Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.”
- Dr Seuss

I love to read through the Blogs of Note -- they recently added this blog. it's very prithiful. She is very artistic and talented.

ugh.. I have found myself completely caught in the web of despair. I think I want to gift these shirts to my family. I've been browsing their website for the past 15 min. or so.

lord? of the falls... plip...

Have you ever just had one of those weeks where you don't want to do anything. That's this week for me. I feel tired - exhausted really - by everything. I also feel very numb. I'm sure it all has to do with recent changes in my environment. My younger brother/room-mate moved to Wisconsin this past weekend. Sort of brings out all my angst of being alone. We spent a lot of quality time together. Driving around town, yelling at weirdies, watching movies - even cooking. *sigh* it makes everything seem rather lifeless and boring. It's not that I don't like having my house back, it's just that it is nice to have someone around to talk to, other than myself.

I feel like I'm living on liquid sunshine -- here today, consumed immediately and then GONE! dagnabbit. happy thoughts, think happy thoughts.

lists - as it is *that* day again.

~quality reading~
>Lem outdid him self today. I chuckled and chuckled at Bunny
>We written by Zamyatin, Yevgeny
>A Softer World

I am limiting my list to the number 3 today... why? because I feel like it and it is my freakin' blog. :p

~recently discovered awesomeness~
>scritch scratch
>not so recent, but totally worth mentioning. well, the girly sale is recent. BUY SHIRTS PEOPLE! and then wear them, please. :)
Threadless
>Pon and Zi

played 126 times OMG!
>The Stoop - Little Jackie
played 107 times
>Bak et halleluja - Kaizers Orchestra

'tis Wednesday again.

Before I get into the lists I’d like to give an honorable mention to this book “From the Streets to the sheet”.

It gets an honorable mention for the following categories.
1. best use of the word quickies EVAH!
2. best description of content
3. best picture to go with content and 3 word description
4. best choice of title
5. awesome author name

and by best I do mean the most ridiculous. I mean seriously, who goes to the think tank and say Yo, dog, I think we should use the word quickies to describe short stories.
