So, my new car is amazing. This is the first new car of my lifetime and I think it's wonderful. I've become quite attached to my XM radio. I don't know what I'm going to do at the end of my 3 month trial period. Do I give it up and listen to my ipod? do I subscribe. *le sigh*

life is just so difficult. :)

Ooo Secret Vespers did a tribute to A Softer World

nifty o!
*I guess really it's OUR house*

ahh I love webcomics.

I've also forgotten to mention 55 word stories from bird and moon

this one is a guest story and it's still great.

Ashes to Ashes

I watched the flames hungrily devour the structure, walls collapsing in helplessness, beams disintegrating, furnishings screaming their protest. Charred ruins, embers, then ashes. The coldness of reduction. Life incinerated to nothingness.

I do not know why I set fire to my house. To forget the past, maybe. But I did not. And I have not.
-by William J. Brazil

^^
I took that picture this autumn while driving home from work.

Today it's snowing... the air is crisp, cool, and inviting because it's gorgeous and white, wintry out there. When I have a chance I'll take a few pictures of the not so zombie park across the street from my work.

I'm sitting at my desk listening to Check Yes Juliet by We the Kings -- it makes me feel a tad sad.
the lyrics to the chorus go
Run, baby, run
Don't ever look back
They'll tear us apart
If you give them the chance
Don't sell your heart
Don't say we are not meant to be
Run baby run
Forever we'll be
You and me

I have added a few Christmas songs to my itunes collection. oh yay! *eyeroll*

I've decided that unless I have a really great title I'm just going to give the darn things numbers.

I wish I would get my pictures uploaded on flickr or something so I could pop them onto this blog instead of having to search all over the Internets for pictures to use to convey my many feelings.

The weather has been logically wintery the last couple of days. We have a bit of wispy snow still on the ground, but the rest has melted away. Either way it's getting bitterly cold and my fingers are not so delightfully frozen. What does all this have to do with anything? Well, quite frankly, nothing.

I didn't really do my lists yesterday. One seems rather like I'm being lazy. So I thought of a few things that I have recently decided to like.

~new likes~
>Pandora Radio
>Cutesy Cupcakes
>randomly found stuffs about vintage clothing patterns
>New Artist - at least newer to me... Corinne Bailey Rae
>gingersnap lattes? still not sure about this one.I decided to splurge today and get something more expensive than three shots of espresso with cream and some flavoring, but hey, this has three shots and milk so either way it's the same just with ginger something flavoring. *shrug* it's not bad, but I wouldn't drink it every day.

~top played itunes songs~
>Dear Chicago - Ryan Adams
played 241 times
>Near to you - A Fine Frenzy
played 229 times
>Bak et Hallelujah - Kaizers Orchestra
played 197 times
>The Stoop - Little Jackie
played 193 times
>Psalms 3 - Salvador
played 186 times.

Now it's a matter of trying to get other songs further up the list so that they'll be in the top 5. it's weird how I can listen to the same song for hours on end. weird I tell you. Something is not right with me.

~books I'm reading~
>Siddhartha - Herman Hesse
>Interview with a vampire - Anne Rice
>The Rights of Man - Thomas Paine
>An Ideal Husband - Oscar Wilde
>The Overcoat - Nikolai Gogol
It is no use to blame the looking glass if your face is awry.
- Nikolai Gogol

for kicks and giggles I recently reread (within 3 days) all of Ann Brashares Sisterhood of the Traveling pants books. They are so poignant and yet I feel cheesy reading tween/almost adult romances. One of the things I really adore about Ann Brashares though is that she uses quotes to begin each chapter. Quotes like
"not all who wander are lost." J.R.R. Tolkien
"Today is the tomorrow we worried about yesterday."
anyway I was reminded of how I love, love, love quotes. I adore a good quote so I am going to share 5 of my favorites.

~five favorite quotes~
>In the beginning, there was nothing, which exploded.
- Terry Pratchett
>I do not want people to be agreeable, as it saves me the trouble of liking them.
- Jane Austen
>If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.
- Voltaire
>During the Season, father, I only talk seriously on the first Tuesday in every month, from four to seven.
- Oscar Wilde - An Ideal Husband
>I have
Immortal longings in me.
- William Shakespeare

oh joy...

it's finally Wednesday. Woot! I actually remembered and, golly gee, had time to sit and write something. I wonder sometimes why I bother to keep an online journal/blog of any sort. It's not really like there is much that is of interest about me. I live an ordinary life, work an ordinary job, and overall I'm nothing to be commended. That being said... on to the lists.

There will be no venting today... instead I shall list the things that make me happy.

~happy things~
>coffee
>Squishables
>this adorable octopus necklace
>the best t-shirt place evah
>online literature such as Discourse of Method by Descartes

~songs that make me smile~

>Død mann tango - Kaizers Orchestra
sha la la laaaa sha la la
>Black and Gold - Sam Sparro
>Cheater Cheater - Joey & Rory
>Run - Amy Macdonald
>The Stoop - Little Jackie

~other things that make me smile~
>yarns
even though I am terrible at doing any projects
>fingerless gloves
I'm not really sure why
>I love this shirt I am sure the explanation is in order... but I don't have one really.

>Tuesdays & Thursdays at work
every other day is fair and well... but there is something special about Tuesdays and Thursdays.
>hahhahahaha Niiiiiice

~countries I want to visit~
>Russia
I really want to go back to Moscow. I miss it.
>Iceland
>Italy
>New Zealand
>Czech Republic & Slovakia

and thus ends my ramblings for today.

educate thy self.

ugh... have you ever spent an entire day hating the fact that people these days are complete and total idiots? I have done that for the past 2 days. Days which I have had to work with the greater public of my local. Now I am quite exhausted AND my eye is twitching. ugh.

~top idiotic responses~
>I shouldn't have to give you any identification. I was born here.
-- and I'm thinking to myself "WHO FRIGGIN' CARES!"
ugh. seriously? like oh my god really? you're not like oh my god kidding me?
actual response -- I don't really care where you were born. I still need to see ID.
them:I'm not showing you a damn thing and I didn't ask for any of this I just want my information.
me: I need you to show me identification as that is our policy.
them: well it's stupid. There is something wrong with your administration that they require people to have identification.
me:Ma'am, for your protection we require that all individuals who would like information about their account, without their card being present, show proof of who they are. it's simply a precaution.
>them:I wants to get a new account.
me:have you had an account with us before?
them:Yes
me:then we won't make you a "new" account we'll just update the old one.
them:but I have fines.
me: yes, and those will need to be taken care of before we can update your record to full privileges.
them:well.. I can't do that today.
me:then I won't be able to update your account.
them:then give me a new one.

ugh.

~books on my reading shelf~
>The Overcoat by Nikolai Gogol
>Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell
>Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer
>Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky
>We by Yevgeny Zamyatin

~ha ha ha new song~
>Cheater, Cheater - Joey and Rory

~current favorite songs~
>Black and Gold - Sam Sparro
>Run - Amy MacDonald
>Everything - Michael Buble
>Que Sera, Sera - Pink Martini
>Goodnight Rose - Ryan Adams

well, I forgot to mention that I leave work early every Wednesday afternoon because I am taking Spanish language classes for work. This is probably part of my horrid problem as far as stress is concerned. I feel like an infant -- trying to learn things that I'm just not really capable of, even though I know I am. n-e-who this month is Hispanic Heritage month so we had a lovely bit of artwork about Frida Kahlo and our museum will be hosting artwork by Diego.

off I run chilluns -- have fun.

happy hamster

~alt text "mostly if it's bad"
*sigh*

I've had an jolly good weekend -- yes, I spent it doing a lot of nothingness, but then this is my prerogative.

Friday - I got to hold my friends wee bairn at the hospital... he's adorable. She's hoping he gets to go home soon.

Saturday - since my Pops (father) is still in town I went shopping with him at Costco after madly cleaning the kitchen and such. then I cooked a nice sweet and sour balti chicken dish. Over all a great Saturday.

Sunday - I went to church -- went out after church with friends as it was the last service that our mutual acquaintance would be here. I will miss him quite a lot. Then in the evening I went to a bonfire at my boss's house. It was quite nice.

Monday - a lot of nothingness and watching Hamish Macbeth. I adore Scottish accents and should think that I'd adjust very well to the country. I'd like that close knit feeling I think. n-e-whoo that evening because of a dryer catastrophe at home I had to frequent a laundry mat. ugh. I spent 2 hours of torture at a laundry mat -- torture because i had to watch Spanish soap operas. Nothing worse than a soap opera in my opinion and to be forced to watch it IN a language you don't really understand.. ugh. I thought my ears would start bleeding from all the crying that went on. but I got my clothes washed, dried, and folded. so all is well with the world.

lists for today -- well -- I don't have anything cool or new or interesting. So perhaps I'll just not make a list. HAHAHHAHAHHAHAH just kidding.

Not that I just discovered this or anything BUT I did just discover this

>Everything - Michael Buble
played 123 times
>The Stoop - Little Jackie

odd things I've been asked online
>my name appears to the side of my picture
"wot your name?"
>from creepy old man. creepy because he likes to hug, caress, etc. on friendzii vs. just smiling like a normal old geezer to a young hot chicka -- and by old I mean old enough to be my grandfather
"invite me to be your facebook friend??"

there are so many that I haven't the time to sort through them. SO be happy with two stupid questions from two stupid people OKAY FOLKS.

It is really that day again?

Wow, time flies when you're not having fun. I have for the first time in awhile been meeting people online. It all started with this facebook application request that I stupidly said yes to. Now I regret it with my whole being. Yeah, if you have facebook do not add Friendzii... oh, it relates quite well to its similar sounding buddy Frenzy. I'm assuming that the people who made it were thinking to themselves "let's start a smiling frenzy with friends and call it Friendzii!!" OMG! ugh. *facepalms* It's the most ridiculous application ever. basically you smile at random people on bebo and facebook, by smiling you earn credits to do more than smile, give gifts, and tag people. I have met some doozy people. Guys who start the conversation with "Hey sexy, wanna get together and have a good time?" "LIKE NO! FREAK!" *shudder*
I have however met some nice, normal people on there and so I could say that it isn't all that bad. However I've never really been good at the whole 20 questions game. If I feel inclined I'll tell you about my life, if I don't then I won't. fair enough? I guess not. I feel incredibly bad about how rude, snarky and sarcastic I am. I probably give the impression of complete coldness. and well, some of that is pretty true. I am just not a warm, fluttery girl. I like order in my chaos <-- is that possible? hrm.

ugh. so.

yeah.

lists. it's that day again. My friend and I are starting a top ten list. When we finish it I'll post it next Wednesday. :)

lists... hrm.

Well, I'd like to say that I have ever so much to say today, but I really don't. I went on vacation over the Labor day weekend and it was fantastic. I forgot just how much I adore Wisconsin. it's just so lush and green, with rolling hills and bright red barns. Oh sure they still have the cornfields and such, but it's different.
