so, it's pretty much the happiest day of my life. *sarcasm*

I found out at my job that they can cut my pay any ol' time they please. which pretty much pisses me the $@*# off. How is it that they can just revamp a contract to lessen the pay of a large group of employees. Just because we're part-time doesn't mean we're not important or that our lives and paychecks don't matter in the long haul. Besides WTF were we working for if not for a "pay increase" not a pay reduction. And to top that off there's really nothing I can do to increase the amount I take home by working more hours. I already work the max amount of hours a part-time employee can work at any given time in my company.

But seriously I worked hard to get where I am and for the raises that I've earned. What is the matter with an establishment that they can just shaft people like that?

so, I have something to do before I go totally broke, loose my car, house, dog, cat and my nonexistent boyfriend.

~get a tattoo of this somewhere on my body....

or how I really feel about life right now

I also have Ryan Adams "Note to self: don't die" song stuck in my brain. The main reason for that is my friend and I would always end our emails with

*dies*

and that would be the best of it. :)

we are awesome.

So, draw a warm bath, listen to the song, and open a couple veins -- this day couldn't get any suckier.

I finally finished Siddhartha... it's a beautifully written bit of literature, very descriptive and sometimes poetic in nature. Reading this book has made me think about my own life -- how much time I waste everyday, not noticing the millions of amazing things around me. How I pay no mind to other people and their stories. How I've hardened my persona against feelings of warmth and goodwill towards humanity. Honestly it made me regret that I am not a better person, a more devoted person, a kinder person. Eh, I think I shall dedicate this new year, 2009, though it is not a resolution -- just a dedication to make myself friendlier, more open, more accepting, and less like the Grinch that I am.

eeehehee

The Grinch: The nerve of those Whos. Inviting me down there - and on such short notice. Even if I wanted to go my schedule wouldn't allow it. Four o'clock, wallow in self pity; 4:30, stare into the abyss; 5:00, solve world hunger, tell no one. 5:30, jazzercize. 6:30, dinner with me. I can't cancel that again. 7:00, wrestle with my self-loathing; I'm booked. Of course, if I bump the loathing to 9 I could still be done in time to lay in bed, stare at the ceiling and slip slowly into madness. But what would I wear?

One really must love Dr. Seuss, he is rather amazing.

“Sometimes the questions are complicated and the answers are simple.”
